About the Position:

This position is located at the William Beaumont Army Medical Center; El Paso, TX. Since 1921, William Beaumont Army Medical Center (WBAMC) has provided care for military personnel and their eligible family members. WBAMC is one of two trauma centers in El Paso County and consists of twelve stories that cover more than a half-million square feet of floor space. WBAMC provides trauma care to the surrounding community and a full range of medical care to Fort Bliss, which supports over 19,000 troops and will grow to over 37,000 as it undergoes the largest post expansion in the Army. William Beaumont offers an array of programs in many medical disciplines and has close partnerships with higher learning institutions. Vestibular Research Position at Walter Reed Army Medical Center

The Army Audiology and Speech Center is seeking a Research Audiologist whose primary focus is vestibular assessment. This individual will be in a pivotal position to influence the vestibular evaluation and research at the new Walter Reed National Military Medical Center, the highest echelon of medical care for the nation’s wounded warriors, active duty and retired military personnel and their dependents. This will be an opportunity to be in the forefront of world-class clinical care in an environment where there is ongoing basic and applied auditory, speech, language and vestibular research.

This individual should have a strong working knowledge of vestibular anatomy and physiology, assessment and management, three or more years of experience in the clinical research field, a track record of publications, and should demonstrate an interest in and ability to conduct vestibular research. Must also possess excellent clinical skills and be comfortable working with human subjects in a research environment, have excellent verbal and written communication skills, and be methodical and organized in collecting and documenting processes and data.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and guide the design and implementation of experimental protocols
  • Guide data analysis
  • Manuscript and grant preparation
  • Coordinate ethical approval for research with the Institutional Review Board
  • Maintain documentation and data necessary for IRB compliance
  • Collaboration with clinical Audiology staff and other members of the multi-disciplinary team and active involvement in the Audiology Clinic
  • Disseminate research findings by participation in and presentation of data at research conferences.

Army Medical Department is Recruiting Audiologists

The Army Medical Department is recruiting fully qualified audiologists to serve in the Army Medical Service Corps.

Applicants must have an AuD or PhD in Audiology from an accredited program and must meet professional qualifications for unrestricted practice.

Army audiologists provide clinical, rehabilitative, occupational, educational, operational and industrial hearing services to Soldiers, civilian noise exposed workers and other eligible beneficiaries. Serving as an Army audiologist provides opportunities for professional growth and development in management, leadership, research, and education. Army audiology positions are available in several States, Germany, Korea, Alaska and Hawaii. Army audiologists receive excellent pay and benefits to include medical and dental coverage, low-cost life insurance, continuing education, 30 days annual vacation, and 10 federal holidays.
