The JDVAC developed in 2009 with a need to recognize that both MAA and AVAA share common aspects together. Both groups now have an annual combined meeting.

Military Audiology Short Course
Regarding the Military Audiology Association; past references to this organization’s meeting were referred to as the Military Audiology Short Course (MASC). These references are for historical purposes.
This course is our yearly preeminent event. It is typically a 2-3 day event by which the membership can obtain continuing education credits from AAA and ASHA. Guest speakers may be ex-members of the association or featured speakers of a specific area.
Our 2009 meeting was held at Mesa, AZ, in conjunction with the Association of VA Audiologists annual meeting. A listing of presentations can be found at the AVAA website.
