AuD Loans

The AAA Foundation is offering low interest loans for working professionals in AuD programs. These loans are for $2,000, with a rate of about 4%. The money does not have to be paid back until the end of the AuD program. For details and applications prospective recipients should contact Casey Stach.

Training CD

The National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) at Glenn Research Center, Cleveland, Ohio offers a free disc developed by Hoover & Keith, Inc. for in-house hearing conservation training programs. The disc is titled Auditory Demonstrations in Acoustics and Hearing Conservation.

This disc contains a series of audio demonstrations that were created to illustrate fundamental concepts in acoustics (e.g., frequency, sound level, tonal and broadband noise sources, A-weighting, octave band filtering, audiometric test frequencies, and simulated hearing loss demonstrations).

Single copies are available free on request via their website.

Military Audiology Short Course (MASC) 2001

Currently, there are very tentative plans to hold the short course in conjunction with the Force Health Protection Conference (FHPC), Albuquerque, NM, in August 2001. The FHPC is also in the early stages of planning and is subject to change. Of course, all is contingent on receiving funding from our services. We will try to keep your updated via the Web site.

Dues

Within the next few weeks you’ll find your MAA dues notice in your mailboxes. The annual dues have been reduced to $35.
